Cast Iron Metal Cellar Grates & Light Well covers Design and Installation

We recently made a new cellar grate for a customer as the existing cast iron ones were likely to be over 100 years old and were corroded too much to be repaired.

We made two of these from 20mm square box section to match and provided them in a hot dip galvanised and painted black finish to protect against rust.

I need my grate replacing I need the grate to open out as a fire exit so will need to be in 2 parts. Can send you pictures of current one I live in Brighton not sure if you will cover this area?

Can existing cellar grates be changed to be safer? Ours which is on a pavement has a large gap towards the window which I feel is not safe. Could an extra piece gexx cxxx added. We are in Yeadon.
